Supreme Court Upholds Obamacare Mandate That GOP Once Supported

VIDEO – As the Supreme Court upholds the Affordable Care Act and its individual mandate, this video documents the Republican position on the healthcare mandate.  That is, the Republican position on the mandate before Obama became president.

Mitt Romney and the following Republican congressional members were in favor of the individual mandate before they flip flopped on the issue simply to oppose President Obama:

  • Sen. Chuck Grassley (R – Iowa)
  • Sen. Orrin Hatch (R – Utah)
  • Sen. Dick Richard Lugar (R – Indiana)
  • Sen. Dan Coats (R – Indiana)
  • Sen. Thad Cochran (R – Mississippi)
  • Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R – Texas)
  • Rep. Connie Mack (R – Florida)
  • Rep. Cliff Stearns (R – Florida)
  • Sen. John McCain (R – Arizona)
  • Sen. Scott Brown (R – Massachusetts)
  • Sen. Lamar Alexander (R – Tennessee)
  • Sen. Lindsey Graham (R – South Carolina)
  • Sen. Mike Crapo (R – Idaho)
  • Sen. Olympia Snowe (R – Maine)
  • Sen. Jim DeMint (R – South Carolina)

  1. Sigh… it’s sad that our elected “leaders” are like a bunch of children. You’d think they’d be pooling their thoughts together to try to come up with the best solutions to our problems. Nope. Instead Congress is like junior high. Their job is literally to win a popularity contest instead of being hardcore problem solvers… and lo and behold, you get hardcore flip-flops like this that make cynical f**** like us just sit back, yawn and shake our heads.
